South and Central Asia: Deputy Secretary of State Antony Blinken Travel to Afghanistan December 10


Deputy Secretary Blinken has arrived in Afghanistan to meet with President Ashraf Ghani, Chief Executive Abdullah Abdullah, and other senior Afghan government officials. The Deputy Secretary’s trip to Kabul follows on from his participation in the Heart of Asia ministerial on December 9 in Islamabad that focused on a regional effort to ensure a secure, sovereign, and prosperous Afghanistan.

While in Kabul, the Deputy Secretary will also meet with members of Afghanistan’s Parliament and alumni of U.S. exchange programs.
